Kingfishr

They met at the University of Limerick, wrote their songs at the kitchen table of a Tipperary farm, and in the process, without any grand plan, created one of the most remarkable success stories in the Irish music scene: Kingfishr, the trio featuring frontman Eddie Keogh, bassist Eoin “Fitz” Fitzgibbon, and banjo player Eoghan “McGoo” McGrath, are proof that folk songs can become anthems and captivate half the world. After their first shows in Germany sold out completely – in Hamburg with a venue upgrade to mojo club – they’re now returning in November 2026 on a major European tour for five more German shows in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, and Cologne. The three Irish friends have gone from a student flat to the twice-sold-out, 15,000-capacity 3Arena in Dublin in record time. Over 300 million streams, more than two million monthly listeners on Spotify, and an Irish anthem that has already reached 14x platinum in their homeland: “Killeogh”. But numbers never tell the whole story. What truly sets the Irish trio apart is their ability to fill a space as large as an aircraft hangar in a way that feels both intimate and collectively exhilarating.

Musically, Kingfishr stand for melody-driven, folk-rooted pop from the heart. Fitzgibbon and McGrath bring backgrounds in traditional Irish music, and Ireland’s rich storytelling tradition is directly reflected in their songs. “Someone recently told me that three guys from Dublin or London couldn’t make this music,” says Fitzgibbon. “Where we come from is always part of it.” Their debut album “Halcyon” is a promise that their live shows deliver on. Songs like “Shot in the Dark,” written the moment the three decided to quit their day jobs and bet on their music, or the galloping “Shadow” show a band in the midst of growth – consciously and openly experimenting with things without hiding the process behind closed doors. With their latest releases “The Blade” feat. Matt Corby and “The Sun Never Settles,” which recently premiered as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record, the band shows they’re far from finished. While their upcoming Irish tour this summer through stadiums and arenas is already completely sold out, the band is now announcing new dates in Europe. And anyone who has already experienced the Halcyon Tour knows: In a time when heads are mostly bent down, these three guys have somehow figured out how to bring people back into the moment. At Kingfishr shows, the audience looks up, arms linked, swaying, singing. That’s exactly what it’s about when the band returns to Germany in November for their biggest shows on the continent yet as part of their European tour.
