Interdisciplinary Improvisation Laboratory
The Interdisciplinary Improvisation Laboratory is a project directed by Salomé Rodrigues in collaboration with Charlotte Kahler and Fotis Tsiroukis, consisting of a series of four research sessions that bring together dance, music, text, and visual arts to create spontaneous, collaborative work between professional and non-professional artists, inspired by the experiences and learning of the Experimental Jam format.
Each session focuses on a specific research topic and includes proposals led by a guest artist working in a different artistic field each time. The session then evolves into a group creation, where body, sound, and visual landscapes come together and find their own coherence.
The focus is on trust in the creative process, openness to unexpected encounters, and a productive engagement with the unknown. All participants with a performance practice of any level are welcome, including dancers, musicians, and visual artists.
Participation in all sessions is recommended but not mandatory.

Tell me your Story with Salomé Rodrigues
What stories does your body hold? What dances appear from the verbalization of a memory or of a dream?
In this session we will explore through improvisation, the possibilities of translating text into movement and physicality into words. Welcoming writers from the Turtle Magazine in the session, a soundscape of stories that overlap each other bring an absurd reality to life.

Cross Modal Translations: A Cyborg Improvisation with Fotis Tsiroukis and Charlotte Kahler
Can improvisation translate between mediums? What if the movement becomes the generator of sound? Or when the sound draws on a canvas? Leaving the comfort of our familar art forms, we will boldly explore this cross-play of mediums though digital interfaces that facilitate translation between modalities. Through the practice of live situational archiving, we encourage future re-uses of the richness of produced materials.

Listen, Explore, Resonate: From Individual Vibration to a Collective Sound Experience with Emma Passi
A sound can begin as an extension of the self, rooted in breath, deep listening, and the voice, or unfold through physical gestures on instruments and materials. In this session, all these possibilities are explored starting from the idea that the body acts as the primary instrument, where movement provides the physical impulse for sound. As these discovering sounds emerge, they enter into an open dialogue with others, allowing each participant’s unique vibration to resonate with others and create a shared, evolving collective Sound Experience.

Moving Colors with Charlotte Schober
Color is a powerful means of artistic expression, capable of conveying emotions, sensations, and inner states beyond words. In this workshop, dance and visual art come together in an experimental exploration of movement and color as interconnected forms of expression. We will work with semi-permanent liquid paint, which can be applied by hand or with the help of provided tools. The body and color will be our instruments, allowing us to investigate the relationship between physical gestures and painterly expression.
